Routine Requirements
Routine Time Limits School/Recreation Cheer Squads: 2 minutes & 30 seconds. All-Star Cheer Squads: 2 minutes & 30 seconds. Dance Teams: 2 minutes & 15 seconds.
Routine Timing Timing of your routine will begin with the first organized word, movement, or note of music by the squad after it is officially announced and has taken the floor. Timing of your routine will end with the last organized word, movement, or note of music.
Inappropriate Routine Choreography Routine choreography should be appropriate and entertaining for all
audience members. Vulgar or suggestive material is defined as any movement or choreography implying something improper or indecent,
appearing offensive or sexual in content, and/or relaying lewd or profane gesture or implications. Inappropriate choreography will result in an unsportsmanlike penalty.
WCA / USASF Performance Levels WCA and USASF "Performance Levels" are a division leveling system that allows all teams to compete within their own skill level, as well as squad size. These levels promote a more competitive division. Performance Levels also allows organizations with multiple teams to participate without having to compete against each other. It is the responsibility of the coach to insure that the squads routine elements conform to the Performance Level guidelines of their respective division. All squads must follow the WCA /USASF Safety Guidelines.
Procedural Questions Any questions concerning the rules or procedures of the competition will be handled exclusively by one designated representative of the team (i.e. director, coach or captain) and will be directed only to a WCA
Official. Such questions should be made prior to the teams performance. Any questions concerning the teams performance should be made to a WCA
Official immediately after the teams Performance.
Interpretations and Rulings Any interpretations of any aspect of WCA Rules and Regulations or any decision involving other aspects of the competition will be rendered by the WCA Rules Committee. This
committee will render judgment in an effort to insure that the competition proceeds in a manner
consistent with the general spirit and goals of the competition. The Rules Committee will consist of the Competition Director, Head Judge and Head Infraction Judge. The Competition Coordinator may appoint additional members to those listed above to serve on the WCA Rules Committee.
