General Information
Sportsmanship WCA requires that all members attending a WCA competition adhere to the following
"Code of Ethics", in order to ensure the most positive competition experience for all participants involved:
"Code of Ethics"
-
There will be absolutely no contact with any of the judges by participants, coaches or spectators.
-
All questions and concerns about a teams performance must be brought to the appropriate WCA official by the coach only.
-
WCA expects all teams, coaches and spectators to represent themselves and their community in a positive manner. Any unsportsmanlike behavior may result in removal from the event.
If any WCA official observes unsportsmanlike behavior, that official reserves the right to assess a (10) ten point deduction against the associated team or individual along with the possibility of disqualification, removal from the event and/or ban from future WCA events.
We want to ensure a successful experience for everyone attending. Each coach and school principal or gym owner must sign the "Official Squad Roster" form, verifying that this
'Code of Ethics" has been read and explained to all participants, family members and fans who are attending a WCA competition.
Participants Eligibility Verification WCA will strictly enforce the requirements for each division. All competing squads must fill out the
'Official Coach/Squad Roster" included in the Registration packet. All participants must be listed by name, grade and age (as of 5/31/08). Each coach and school principal or gym owner must sign and send in this form with your registration. By signing this form you are verifying each participants grade and age and that they are a registered member of the school or gym. Any substitutions or changes on your squad must be submitted in writing and approved by the WCA.
Practice
WCA Nationals Practice
This year will be an "Open Practice" which will be on a first come basis with a rotation every 15 minutes.
Each cheer squad can practice on a 54 x 42 foam back carpet floor. Each dance team
can practice on a 42 x 42 parquet or Marley floor.
WCA Open Championship Practice Each cheer squad will follow a 30 minute "queuing" system for warm-up. There will also be a
"shared tumbling" schedule at each event. Check each event for updates and additional information.
Performance Order The performance order for the first
performance will be based on your registration date with the first team to register in their division performing last. The order for the second
performance at WCA Nationals will be in reverse rank order with the highest score from the first
performance performing last in their division.
